
Lisa Dlima is a mechanical engineer, educator, and technologist. She is currently at Google Cloud, working on data center hardware and building the hardware and robotics programs that ship products at million-unit volumes. Along the way she evaluates new vendor technologies and startups for what belongs in the next product.
Previously she was a Product Design Lead at Meta Reality Labs, where she owned the custom audio architecture for Ray-Ban Meta glasses and the optics for Oakley Meta Vanguard AI. Before that, at Amazon Lab126, she was a Product Design Lead on the mechanisms team for consumer robotics, shipping Astro.
Early in her career, she designed the Intel WiGig antenna and battery placement shown at CES 2017, delivering a wireless VR experience for the HTC Vive.
Lisa has seen robotics progress from 2013 to the present day. She started with hard problems in underwater robotics research, building a program through the Center for Automotive Research partnership with Honda. She holds patents from Meta and Amazon and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Ohio State, and is completing an M.S. in Computer Science at Georgia Tech (expected 2026), specializing in Machine Learning. She blends interdisciplinary hardware with software because modern robotics demands both.
Lisa provides private consulting for startups, building robotics and hardware teams that ship, and takes bookings for outreach and speaking: conferences, panels, and interviews.
